With the support of a loan partly facilitated by AMVEN, Suttida, a determined 22-year-old cattle farmer, has successfully expanded her agricultural operations.
Living with her grandfather, elder sister, and her sister's young child, Suttida comes from a long line of farmers. Her grandfather continues to work in agriculture, while her sister is employed locally.
Having been immersed in cattle farming since childhood, Suttida received the family farm as a post-graduation gift from her grandfather, empowering her to establish her own livelihood.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Suttida envisions transforming her farm into a prosperous agricultural business that not only engages in commercial livestock production but also serves as an educational hub for fellow livestock farmers.
Currently, her operation involves raising cattle to a specific maturity before selling them to traders. Recognizing the present low cattle prices as a strategic moment for growth, Suttida sought additional funds to increase her herd for breeding and future sales.
To this end, she applied for a loan to invest in a mother cow and calf, straw for bedding, and materials necessary to enlarge her existing cattle shed. By acquiring a breeding cow, Suttida intends to build her herd and implement a sustainable breeding program, ensuring a consistent supply of calves for future income.
This expansion is a crucial step towards realising her ambition of developing her farm into a thriving commercial livestock enterprise and securing her financial independence.
